Hedge Trimming in Rawdon
PROFESSIONAL TRIMMING FOR A HEALTHY HEDGE
Trimming hedges is an art form, and it's why professionals should do it. A poorly trimmed hedge can lead to significant damage and even death.
There are two types of hedges: a trimmed hedge and a free form hedge.
A free-form hedge is made up of various shrubs that need individual trimming.
A trimmed hedge requires more maintenance. Cedar hedge trimming must be done between the end of June and the beginning of September, while other varieties can be trimmed at the end of spring. It is important not to trim the top of a hedge until it reaches its full desired height. Also, do not cut more than two years old wood, as it will prevent the hedge from regenerating.
Leafy hedges can be trimmed occasionally throughout the year, depending on their species. Pruning should generally be done during June and July.
The ideal shape for a hedge is called a trapeze, where the bottom of the hedge is broader than its top and where the top is rounded off. This shape prevents the hedge from sagging under heavy snow. It also allows the base of the hedge to get as much light as possible and keep in good health.
Ascension Arboriculture has the special tools and expertise to trim your hedges aesthetically and securely.
